Our Specialist Addiction Services sees a wide range of presentations and provide clinics for our general adult community. We would like to invite you to join us as an Addiction Medicine Specialist to promote, encourage and enable the health, well-being and independence our community.

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role
Our team here is friendly and inclusive, with excellent cooperation and support between the various team members and their subspecialties. In this role, you will provide addiction medicine services for individuals with alcohol and drug dependency.

 

Our base in Dunedin has a supportive group of twenty colleagues (Psychiatrists, Medical Officers, Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses, Social Workers and AOD Clinicians) and you are also part of a service which works in an integrated model. You will play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team, taking the leading role with one other to maintain and enhance our already comprehensive service, while taking the initiative in developing new ones.  You'll have the energy to make a positive difference with both patients and colleagues alike.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be committed to quality service delivery and development and able to work effectively as a senior clinician within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Mōu ake | About you

Fellowship with the RANZCP or the equivalent is essential and ideally you will already have a current registration with the NZ Medical Council. A Full Drivers licence is a requirement of the role.

 

We would also consider:

 

  • Medical Officer who is working towards Addiction Services
  • GP with experience in addictions practice

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($170,369) and Step 15 ($250,560 p.a prorata)
