Mō te tūranga | About the role

  • Provide outpatient clinics and outreach services to people living in Gore, Balclutha, and the wider Clutha area.
  • Play a key part in developing our model of care towards a stepped care approach and be responsible for the provision of patient-centric interventions.
  • Apply your experience to provide optimal assessment, treatment, and psychotherapy for those experiencing both acute and longstanding psychological conditions and issues.
  • Apply diagnostics, formulation, treatment planning and cognitive therapy skills alongside a small multi-disciplinary team.

 

It is expected that you will also assist in the support and mentoring of intern psychologists.

 

Mōu ake | About you

  • Motivated team player with exceptional communication skills.
  • Previous demonstrated experience of working with adult patients with mental illness in a community setting.
  • Current registration with the NZ Psychologists Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate with a Clinical Scope of Practice.
  • Thrive in a busy and diverse working environment, with the ability to work well in stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical and professional development, including continuous learning and updating of skills and knowledge.

Travel will be required between Balclutha and Gore for a successful full-time applicant; therefore, a full and clean NZ Driver’s license is required.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role belongs to the DHBs/APEX Psychologists Multi-Employer Collective Agreement (1 June 2021 – 31 May 2023) and falls between Step 1 ($75,078 p.a) and Step 10 ($106,858 p.a pro rata).
