Clinical Nurse Specialist - Vascular

Salary Band – $97,700 - $107,000 p.a. pro-rata + Kiwisaver + car park

 

  • Multidisciplinary team focusing on the health of diabetic patients
  • Monday to Friday
  • Permanent position – 0.2FTE + Fixed term position – 0.8FTE to 29/11/2022

 

We are seeking applications from dynamic and career driven Registered Nurses, preferably with experience in Vascular and/or wound care, to join us in a Clinical Nurse Specialist role.

 

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This 1.0FTE role is made up of 0.2FTE permanent and 0.8FTE fixed term to 29/11/2022 due to funding being available for a fixed period. This role is paid at Grade 4 of the Designated Senior Nurses Scale.

 

You will work as part of a team including Registered Nurses, Podiatrists, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Surgeons, all working collaboratively to comprehensively assess and treat patients in our community. This involves taking a holistic approach to patient-centred care that includes optimal diabetes control, effective local wound care and infection control, pressure relieving techniques and ensuring adequate blood flow to the limb.

 

You will be working closely with and under the guidance and support of the Dunedin vascular team, particularly the Nurse Practitioner.

 

Some travel within the district will also be required from time to time.

 

As our Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will promote quality nursing care through research based practice and be responsible for patient care and quality improvement initiatives. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team, educating and sharing knowledge with patients and outpatients staff so outstanding relationship-building skills are essential.

We are looking for a positive and confident senior Registered Nurse who has the drive and enthusiasm to motivate staff and engage them in their clinical development as well as advocate for the best model of care for our community. To be considered for the role you will be a committed team member with a passion for modelling quality nursing practise. 

 

You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and have a minimum of 5 years practice within the defined scope of clinical speciality. Ideally you will already be working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and have a post graduate diploma (or working towards) and/or a master’s degree. It is also expected that you will have achieved / or be working towards Level 3 / 4 PDRP.

 

As some travel will be required, you will also be required to hold a full drivers licence.
