  • Use your interpersonal focus combined with electronic skills to give back to your community
  • Keep dialysis patients safe with your technical expertise
  • Full time, permanent

About the Role

Our Clinical Engineering team needs an experienced enthusiastic Electronics Technician to service and maintain primarily Dialysis medical equipment, both within the hospital and our community across the region. Also required to service and maintain other clinical equipment such as infusion pumps for the wider team.

Medical Equipment advances quite rapidly in terms of functionality and sophistication, so you’ll be given ongoing technical training as required. As much of our equipment is becoming networked you will have the ability to broaden your IT knowledge and skills.

About You

You will be a focused person who is process driven, able to use their initiative and has an excellent attention to detail. You’ll be an integral part of Clinical Engineering at Dunedin Hospital so you’ll need to be able to work harmoniously in a team environment whilst remaining focused on patient care excellence.

You will be required to travel throughout Otago and Southland to service home Dialysis equipment, sometimes at short notice. You will be required to work on a 24/7 on call roster. You will need to have a good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work and a current driver’s licence.

You’ll bring to us a tertiary qualification in electronics or equivalent electronics knowledge and practical work experience, and minimum current registration as “Registered Electrical Appliance Serviceperson” (as required by the Electrical Workers Registration Board). Previous experience in the challenging field of Clinical Engineering Dialysis would be a significant advantage.
