Mō te tūranga | About the role

 

Lakes District Hospital is a busy facility, with an emergency department, general ward, radiology, maternity and outpatient departments. Located in the hub of clinical administration, this busy and varied role will often challenge your organisational skills with competing deadlines and conflicting priorities.

 

As part of our team, you will be carrying out a wide range of administrative and reception duties and providing essential support to keep the hospital functioning effectively, including but are not limited to:

  • management of patient records for the emergency department and general ward
  • processing of ACC forms and other documentation
  • providing effective reception services – answering incoming calls, welcoming visitors to the Service
  • Supporting the wider service with administration tasks

As part of the administration team you will form part of the front line so your friendly, welcoming, resilient nature will be appreciated. You’ll be a positive communicator – both written and verbal and be competent in MS Office Suite. Experience using database systems and/or the ability to quickly pick these up is essential as you’ll be working with these on a daily basis.A background in medical administration would be ideal but not essential. You’ll have a mature outlook, excellent relationship management skills and function well under the pressure that often occurs when dealing with the public in a health environment.

Utu whānui |Salary range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Clerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 4A between $64,903 to $67,787 pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
