  • Permanent, part time position (20 hours per week)

 

About the Department

We consider ourselves to be very fortunate here at the Queen Mary Maternity Unit, not only do we get to care for fabulous women and families from all across our diverse region, we also get to work alongside a kind, compassionate and dedicated team of midwives and doctors providing a safe and positive birthing experience. 

 

Our birth date is around 1,800 babies per year at Queen Mary and our team works closely with the midwifery and medical school to give the kind of care our patients deserve.

 

About the Role

This is a busy administrative and reception role where you will need to be able to effectively multi-task whilst keeping a smile on your face and a spring in your step!

 

As Administration Officer, your role will include (but is not limited to):

  • Providing high quality administrative support to the maternity service
  • Setting up and maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems and procedures
  • Continuous improvements to processes and procedures to enhance the administration service provided
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships across the team
  • Providing excellent customer service

 

About You

Ideally you will bring the following skills and experience:

  •   Previous experience in a busy administration role
  •   Competent and confident using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  •   Excellent word processing and data entry skills with a strong eye for detail
  •   Flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise your workload
  •   Respectful nature handling confidential, often sensitive information in a professional manner
  •   Excellent communication with a natural flair for fostering positive relationships

 

Due to the 24/7 nature of our service, our administration staff work standard office hours across a 7-day (Monday – Sunday) roster. The reception desk is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 10:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 9:00am - 2:30pm, so the ability to work evening and weekend shifts is essential for this role.

 

The salary for this position is $48,220 to $51,240 per annum (pro rata for part time) in accordance with the PSA South lsland Administrative Employees Collective Employment Agreement and will be based on relevant experience and qualifications This is inclusive of the PSA Clerical and Administrative Staff Pay Equity Interim Adjustment, made by Southern DHB on 16 April 2021.
